Collect 1 Million Items

Collect 1 Million Items Rebirth & Prestige: When to Reset

Mid-game transition, from roughly 10,000 itemsPrerequisites: A working Cash loop, and enough throughput to re-buy an 8-Stud pusher inside five minutes

Rebirth is the moment Collect 1 Million Items stops being a pushing game and starts being a timing game. It takes your Cash, your Pusher Width and your WalkSpeed away, and in exchange it permanently raises your Luck multiplier, so the platform starts spawning the expensive rarities that the Item Index pays Gems for. Done at the right point, a Rebirth costs you ten minutes and pays you back for the rest of your account. Done at the wrong point it strands you with a starter pusher and a fraction of your old income.

This page is about picking the right point, and about the specific test that tells you whether you are there yet.

What Rebirth actually trades away

The reset is narrower than it feels the first time. Cash and everything Cash buys go back to the start; everything you earned through the Index, through codes and through rolls stays exactly where it is.

Cleared by Rebirth Kept permanently
Currency Cash balance, back to zero Gems, untouched
Pusher Pusher Width ranks, back to the 4-Stud Basic Pusher Any pusher you own as a Gamepass, such as the VIP or Coconut Pusher
Movement WalkSpeed ranks, back to default Nothing else — WalkSpeed is pure Cash
Abilities Nothing Every Ability you have rolled: Conveyor, Wave, Gust, Magnet, Dash
Index Nothing Every rarity you have already credited, and every Gem reward already paid
Multiplier — The new Luck tier, applied on top of everything above

If you have ever wondered why the first Rebirth feels almost free, that table is the answer. Banked Gems and a rolled Conveyor are the two things that make a reset cheap, and a reset does not touch either of them.

The five-minute re-buy test

Before you touch the button, answer one question honestly: can I get an 8-Stud pusher back inside five minutes?

That is the whole test, and it exists because of how the physics works. Items spawn as rigid bodies with real mass, and the starter pusher is about 4 Studs wide. A 4-Stud contact face does not have the cross-section to move a cluster of two or three items, so when you walk into a pile the game resolves the collision by shoving you backwards instead of the items forwards. A player who resets into that state is not farming, they are bouncing.

An 8-Stud pusher — the Steel Pusher width — is where that stops. Once your contact face is 8 Studs wide, clusters move instead of you, and the Cash loop starts again.

So the test is really a test of your income. If you can turn a fresh, upgrade-free platform into 8 Studs of width within five minutes, the reset is cheap. If you cannot, the reset is going to cost you twenty minutes of fighting your own pusher, and no Luck multiplier is worth that when you have not yet plateaued.

Do this before you reset. Confirm you have either a rolled displacement Ability (Conveyor or Wave will do) or enough banked Gems to roll for one straight after respawning. A 4-Stud pusher plus an empty ability bar is the worst possible starting state, and it is entirely avoidable.

Reading the plateau: when Cash upgrades stop being worth it

Cash upgrade costs do not climb gently. Pusher Width and Cash Multiplier both scale geometrically, at roughly 1.35x and 1.40x per rank respectively, which means the gap between "this upgrade is cheap" and "this upgrade is my entire session" opens fast.

The plateau has a recognisable signature, and it usually shows up somewhere between the second and fourth reset of a run:

  • The next Pusher Width or Cash Multiplier rank costs more than ten minutes of your current pushing.
  • Your item counter is still climbing, but your Cash is not — the throughput is real, the payout is not.
  • You are pushing the same items around the platform for longer than you spend pushing new ones.

When all three are true, your Cash loop has stalled and more pushing will not fix it. That is what Rebirth is for.

What the Luck multiplier is buying you

Luck is not a Cash bonus. It changes which items the platform spawns, and the spawn table is extremely top-heavy.

Rarity Base spawn weight What it is for
Common 60.00% Filler. Moves the counter, barely moves the bank.
Rare 25.00% Early Cash, and the Steel Pusher tier.
Epic 10.00% Where the Cash loop actually lives.
Legendary 4.50% Index progress and real Gem rewards.
Mythic 0.50% The tier you are farming for, and the reason Luck exists.

Below Mythic the tail keeps going — Godly and Secret sit under 0.05% — and those are the items whose Item Index credit is worth the most, in the range of 50 to 250 Gems for a first discovery. That Gem income is what funds Ability rolls, and Ability rolls are what unlock the automation that makes a run to 1,000,000 take hours instead of weeks.

At 1.0x Luck you need around 200 spawns to see a single Mythic. Stack the free Rsix Studio group bonus on top of a first Rebirth tier and your effective Luck roughly triples, which cuts the wait to something closer to 66 spawns. Same platform, same pushing, three times the encounters with the only rarity that matters.

Before you press the button

Two things are worth doing in the last minute before a reset, because neither survives it.

  1. Push every high-rarity item into The Void. The Index pays its Gem reward the first time a rarity is credited, and items still sitting loose on the platform are deleted by the reset. Sweep the perimeter and the edges rather than the middle, and push from behind so the item goes over the ledge instead of sideways.
  2. Read the tier the Rebirth panel is offering you. Check that your group bonus is showing. If the multiplier is not what you expected, sort that out before resetting, not after — the tier is awarded on confirmation and it is not retroactive.

After you respawn: the first three minutes

The rebuild is not complicated, but it is easy to get wrong, because the game is now offering you cheap upgrades that are all traps.

  • Spend everything on Pusher Width until you are back at 8 Studs. That is the only purchase that restores your income.
  • Do not buy WalkSpeed yet. It looks cheap and it does nothing for your income. Above 32 Studs/s the physics actually works against you, because your pusher starts skipping past items between frames and clipping through them instead of pushing. The comfortable band is 24 to 28, and you want to be under it while rebuilding anyway.
  • Do not buy Cash Multiplier yet. A multiplier on a trickle is still a trickle. Width first.
  • Sweep the sides, not the middle. Cluster density is lowest at the platform edges, and a fresh pusher can move single items there without rebounding.
  • Bring out Conveyor the moment you have it. A 6-second band moving items at about 35 Studs/s into the void does not care how narrow your pusher is, and it single-handedly covers the rebuild window.

Once 8 Studs is back, the rebound stops completely and you can go back to pushing clusters straight at the void. That is the point at which the reset has finished paying for itself.

Resetting too early

The early-reset trap is the most common one. It happens somewhere around 15,000 items, usually because the Rebirth prompt started flashing and the player read that as a signal.

What follows is predictable: a 4-Stud pusher, no Cash, and item spawns arriving faster than a narrow contact face can clear them. Every attempt to push a pile results in the player being shoved backwards. Cash income collapses to a crawl, and the player spends the next twenty minutes doing exactly the work the reset was supposed to save them.

If you are already in that hole, do not panic and do not charge the middle of the platform. Work the corners where density is thinnest, push single items off the edges, and put every Coin into Width. Skip WalkSpeed entirely — speeding up while your pusher is too narrow makes the clipping worse, not better. The situation is recoverable, it just costs you the time you were trying to save.

Waiting too long

The opposite mistake is quieter and, in the long run, more expensive. It looks like discipline: you have a big Cash balance, the upgrades are expensive but affordable, so you keep pushing.

The problem is what you are not spawning. On baseline Luck, items above Epic are rare enough that the Index stops paying out, and the Index is where Gems come from. No Gems means no Ability rolls, and no Ability rolls means you are still doing everything by hand at 100,000 items. The Cash you are so carefully preserving is buying a slightly faster version of the exact loop you are stuck in.

More painfully, the Cash upgrade curve means each rank buys less than the last. Past a certain point you are spending an entire session to buy one rank of Width, and the throughput gain is close to invisible. Past 100,000 items with no Rebirth behind you, that is where runs stall.

The fix is the same test as before, applied in reverse: if your next upgrade costs more than ten minutes of pushing, the Cash is worth less to you than the Luck multiplier next to it. Take the reset.

The short version

  • Rebirth clears Cash, Pusher Width and WalkSpeed. It keeps Gems, Abilities, Auras and your Item Index.
  • Reset when the next Cash upgrade costs more than about ten minutes of pushing.
  • Do not reset until you can re-buy an 8-Stud pusher within five minutes of respawning.
  • Sweep the platform into The Void before confirming, because loose items do not survive.
  • Put the first three minutes of every new run into Pusher Width. Nothing else.
  • Join Rsix Studio for the free permanent +1 Luck. It stacks, and it costs nothing.

The Luck multiplier is the only thing in the game that changes which items exist on your platform. Everything else — width, speed, multipliers — just changes how fast you move the items that are already there. That is the entire reason a reset is worth it, and it is also why a reset taken too early or too late is such an expensive mistake.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Rebirth and Prestige?

Rebirth is the mid-game reset. It clears your Cash, your Pusher Width ranks and your WalkSpeed ranks, and pays you a permanent Luck multiplier that raises the odds of spawning high-rarity items for every run afterwards. Prestige is the endgame reset that comes after the 1,000,000-item milestone. It is far more expensive and it hands back a score bonus on every void drop instead of a spawn-rate multiplier, which is why nobody uses it to fix a mid-game slowdown.

When should I do my first Rebirth?

When the next Pusher Width or Cash Multiplier upgrade costs more than the Cash you can earn in about ten minutes of pushing, and you can still afford to re-buy an 8-Stud pusher within five minutes of the reset. Those two conditions together mean the Cash economy has genuinely plateaued and your income will cover the rebuild. Resetting before that point trades a fast Cash loop for a slow one.

Does Rebirth reset my Gems or my Abilities?

No. Gems, every Ability you own, your Auras, your Trails and your Item Index progress are all preserved. Only Cash and the Cash-bought upgrades are cleared. That is the whole reason Rebirth is worth doing: you keep the parts of your account that took the longest to build and swap the parts that are easiest to rebuild.

Is the group +1 Luck worth it before I Rebirth?

Yes, and it is free. Joining Rsix Studio on Roblox adds a permanent +1 Luck to your account, and it stacks with the Rebirth multiplier instead of replacing it. You do not need a code. Join the group, then rejoin the game so the server reads your membership, and the bonus is applied for as long as you stay in the group.

Do I lose items sitting on the platform when I Rebirth?

Yes. Loose items on the platform are wiped along with your Cash. Push anything valuable into The Void first, because the Item Index pays its one-time Gem reward the first time a rarity is credited, and that reward is not recoverable if the item is deleted instead of collected.

How many times should I Rebirth?

There is no fixed count, and nobody is owed a specific Luck number. The practical rule is the same every time: Rebirth when the Cash economy has stalled, and stop reinvesting in Cash upgrades the moment the rebuild stops being fast. Two or three resets are where most players notice the rare-spawn pool opening up, because that is when Epic and above stop being rare events.
